Article Review: “A Brief History of the Internet”
The invention of the telephone and computer technology was considered a huge milestone, but the emergence of the internet has completely revolutionized modern technology scope. The internet has provided a medium for communication and information exchange where people can communicate with each other globally within a short period. Technology analysts believe that the success story behind the internet can be explained by the sustained huge investment that governments and private originations have put in towards research that would improve on the current technology landscape. The internet has solved many communication challenges that faced the world before and its potential to evolve further is bright.
The fact that most interviewees in this article are Silicon Valley residents may have contributed heavily to the way this article is written. I find it very informative with a detailed analysis of the various stages that the evolution of modern internet landscape has had to undergo. More importantly is the fact that today a lot of people have started to gain interest with the history of the internet as recalled by one of the authors of this article, who narrates how he counted more than 14 books at a Japanese bookstore all about the origin and evolution of the internet. The increasing interest in understanding the source of the internet and how it works is a testament to the kind of impact it has made on the world. -dissertation writers
In conclusion, I find it very fascinating that a product created by just a small group of the individual researcher has grown massively to make a substantial commercial impact on the world with billions of dollars being channeled towards internet related investments. We should draw lessons from the evolution journey; the internet has undertaken to understand that it has not yet finished its evolution journey. As such, more exciting things are in store for the technology world in as far as the internet is concerned.
