1. Describe the components of collaborative practice. Identify common barriers and how to deal with each.
2. Describe an example of non-collaboration you have witnessed. How do you address disruptive behavior?
3. Describe critical thinking skills; describe the sbar, briefing/debriefing and apie techniques for solving problems.
4. Describe communication practices used to collaborate appropriately and effectively with other health care providers.
5. Be sure to identify examples of key information (the standardized handoff communication techniques) that needs to be communicated to each role in the team. (include anesthesia, surgeon, circulator, scrub role, and any other discipline needed.)
6. Describe the written means of communicating preoperative orders for the one of the surgical scenarios described above.

1. Analyze your experiences with other hcps and describe a situation when you have either used one of these techniques and it worked or where you might use it in the future.
2. Describe where you feel that these techniques would be useful or where you would like to see them used.
3. Finally describe how you can promote collaborative practice in your healthcare setting.
