Interviewee: In Georgia, the newly designed Rural Hospital Tax Credit Program of 2017 is led by the department of community health within the state with the aim of making healthcare more accessible. Under the program is a financial arrangement through which eligible individuals from low-income families receive aid in form of financial assistance during treatment in the registered health facilities (Georgia.gov, n.d.). The costs associated with the Rural Hospital Tax Credit Program is an additional funding in the form of tax credit for rural health facilities between $60 million and about $100 depending on the size of the hospital (Howard, 2017). Notably, the program aims to achieve access to healthcare to the eligible citizens through enhancing delivery of services in funding of facilities for expansion purposes.
